    Nice looking shell. How is the lathe working for you. You recently modified it to accept larger shells but said it was ever so slightly off balance. Were you able to fix that?

    Anyway, I agree. Birdseye maple is very pretty.

    No stain, already started applying a wipe on polyurethane. Not my usual method, takes a lot of coats to build a finish. The lathe is working great. I need only to upgrade to a beefier motor, this 1/4 horsepower unit will go into thermal shut down after long run.
