    Default Paiste PST 5

First off, glad to be a part of the Drum Chat community.

Anyway, after my birthday and Christmas, I am going to sell my old Zildjian ZBT's (crappy cymbals) and purchase a new set of PST 5's. I will buy the rock set (14" rock hats, 16" rock med. crash, and 20" rock ride) as well as the 14" thin crash. I just want to see if anyone has any thoughts on PST 5's, they are a definite step up from ZBT's.

Montana Rage, it's good to have you with us.

Have you put your sticks to the PST 5 in any music store? I am concerned that you would be making a straight across trade, since these as rated as beginner cymbals, too. If you're looking to upgrade, I'm thinking you'll need to go higher than the PST 5. Just my opinion.

I agree with PB. The PST-5's are pretty much a Paiste version of the Zildjian ZBT/ZHT lines. Save a few more bucks and go up to the Alpha line if you want to go with Paiste. They don't cost much more and you will be getting a cymbal with many pro features. Oh yeah, they sound great too!

I agree. I have Paiste 5 and they are better than Zildjian ZBT's but not a whole lot. I was excited with Paiste 5 because it is a significant upgrade from the generic cymbal that came with my drum set. I can't say the same if I am upgrading from ZBT to Paiste 5.
