Anybody?
So 10 months in as a beginner and I feel I want to move from my electronic kit and eventually phase to a real acoustic kit.
Particularly I would like to get (breakables) that I can take to jam nights, gigs, etc
Building up all the nice components to a really good kit.
So for the last couple of months I've been looking at snares in particular
This one, by sonor, seems to be my style looks wise and budget/quality

Plan to use it for most genres of music, I.e rock, funk, heavy rock but rarely heavy metal these days lol
Just wondering what people's thoughts are. Good snare?
Anybody?
If you like the looks and the sound then it's the right snare for you. Sonor makes nice drums. I like the tube lugs.
TAMA- '2018 Star Walnut, ‘99 Starclassic Performer, '89 Granstar, ‘93 Rockstar
Gretsch- 1963 Round Badge
Zildjian
Remo
Vic Firth
Speed Cobra Double Pedal Blackout Edition
Speed Cobra Hi Hat
Hardware- TAMA Roadpro
Snare Drums- various TAMA, Gretsch, Ludwig, Leedy
Mic's- Sennheiser, Shure, AKG
That's a good looking drum. I've never heard a bad Sonar snare drum, actually. I think you'll be pleased with it!
Have you actually played one?
It looks nice.
You need to find a drum shop and actually give them a bash, from there you will know if you want a plywood shell, fibreglass shell, stave drum or solid one piece unit.
Then go price hunting
