at home when I am just messing around, I will sing some parts, I would imagine if I was in a band though and doing a show, if I was forced to sing I would drum louder and sing quietly.
I sing some harmony parts and a few leads right now. We have 3 other very good singers that all had their parts down before I joined, as we add new songs I'm getting more involved.

I used to sing bgv's all of the time in one band I was in.
I used to sing lead A LOT during rehearsals for another band because the lead singer would never show up.
I can sing some harmony while playing guitar, but I can't even keep a simple beat when I try to sing behind the kit
Lead and harmonies, as much as possible, unless a particular moment in the drum part just doesn't let me. I have been the only voice in the band at one time in my career.
Proudly playing:
Doc Sweeney Drums
A bunch of snares
A bunch of cymbals
Off-Set double pedals
I think I love to play the drums simply because you get to hit 'em!!!
I don't sing while playing the drums (walking and chewing gum issue), but I do sing in the shower. I'm very good. All my soaps tell me so.
After hearing me sing G-L-O-R-I-A Gloria in about 1964, a Federal Law was passed forbidding me to sing under penalty of deportation to a country not of my choosing.
