Has anyone tried 2 different style beaters on a double pedal, I have the Off Set pedals and you can adjust the beater position left to right.

no as I like my drums to sound pretty much the same.

If you want contrasting sound between each beater, this is the way to go but as Hellwyk posted, I too like both beaters to be the same. In my opinion, using a double pedal compromises the slave beater since it's never in the sweet spot as the master beater (did I say just say that?). In my opinion, the slave beater on the batter head always seems to be a tad different in pitch.

Off Set pedals, both pedals are actually slave pedals with the beater drive assembly clamped to the bass drum the pedals are one to the left and one to the right.

I also prefer the same beaters on both, and I have my beaters set left and right of center so both are the same distance from the "sweet spot", and after a little tinkering with spring tension I was able to compensate for my "lazy" left foot, and get them to sound the same (close enough)

Looking for separate sounds, one drum 2 different sounds. Put a large felt beater on the left my primary side yeah I'm a southpaw and a stock beater on the right side think I found the sounds I'm looking for. 2 distinct sounds from the same base drum.
