    Default I finally did it...

    No not that!

I bought a new set of PDP Concept Maples. I'll post pics when then arrive but I've gone for this finish:

I've essentially gone for the CM4 shell pack but added an additional floor tom to give the following spec:

    12x9" Rack Tom
    14x12" Floor Tom
    16x14" Floor Tom
    5.5x14 Snare Drum
    16x20 Bass Drum

The above are quoted in the British way with shell widths first - also known as the correct way !

I should have these in a couple of weeks so will post actual pics of my kit then.

In the meantime, I'm looking into replacements for the less than ordinary stock heads that I beleive these come with. I'm an Evans guy so will stick with my trusted EMAD 3 on bass (both sides). On the toms, I'm looking at either G2 coated or G2 clear. I need to look into snare options but I will still be using my Black Panther Black Widow too so this is not so urgent.

From my toms, I'm looking for a controlled, even tone that provides good, deep resonance.

    Any thoughts gratefully recieved.

Cool looking forward to seeing them, nice sizes, but the dimensions are backwards
G2 coated or coated emps over clear single ply would do it imo

Congrats, I was sooo close to pulling the trigger on an almost identical kit. They do sound very good and I love the look and finish of all the colors.

Congratulations! You won't be disappointed with that kit... and yes, the stock heads are worthless.

    Correct way ?
Where do you find the 5.5 heads for that snare ?
    Love the finish, BTW.

I love narrow, deep snares! In fact, this used to be an octoban before it was recyled.

Or, I may have just copied this from the PDP site and forgot to switch the sizes around to the correct way!

Awesome kit. I think the proper way is to list the diameter first x depth, like you said. Although not everybody adheres to this format. Every time I inquire about a drum, I ask them what the diameter of the shell is.

I like the pic of the finish, and your configuration should be fun. Looking forward to the pic of the entire kit.
