Such a bargain. Beautiful looking snare! Congrats!
Today I had a mid-day rehearsal across town and after the rehearsal I saw a big pawn shop. It was the same chain as the one I usually go to where I found 4 nice snare for super cheap, so I decided to go in. They actually had a lot of drums but mostly lower level stuff, but they had this snare behind the counter on the ground. They wanted $199 for it which was a bad price for this snare but i haggled anyway. This snare doesn't even have a blemish on it, it has Puresound 30 wires and wood hoops on it already. I also saw a Zildian China in a stack. I looked at it and it was a Zidljian A 20" China High. That China looked brand new. I walked out with both for $240. I used the snare and China tonight at a concert and they sounded fantastic.

Such a bargain. Beautiful looking snare! Congrats!
Nice looking snare drum. That China cymbal seems a good choice too. You have good eyes for gear. Pawn shops near me tend to have little or no percussion.
What kind of music do you play?
'Tis true...you really can't stop buying snare drums! Looks like a great find. What are the dimensions M. ?
I've got the can't-help-it's pretty bad! LOL It is a 6.5x14 10ply maple snare with 20 ply wood hoops.
I have found some real gems in the midst of all of the garbage that I've seen in Pawn Shops!
I play gospel, funk, soul, R&B, rock, fusion, Jazz, pop, reggae etc. I have found myself playing everything in the last 3-5 years. I play at a studio and we try to incorporate everything into out music and we also to tracks for artists who don't have musicians. I play it all. LOL
Insane bargain! Thanks!

Looking at that snare and I have never seen a Pearl all wood like that. The throw off says Pearl and the lugs look it too. Was this snare part of that kit in the pic?
Very nice! You have awesome pawn shops around you!
The only snares I've seen around Cbus in the last year was an Yamaha Tour custom and a pitted steel Pearl Free Floating.

What was the free floater?
If those hoops are Yamaha, they equal the amount you paid just on their own. Should be a warm and fat sounding drum. The wood hoops tend to do get that sound.

Man you always score big at pawn shops. Around here, the pawn shops are weak in music gear. Being single again sure has it's advantages with the G.A.S. huh?
That same drum has been my main snare for almost a decade now, minus the wood hoops of course. I did switch the oem die casts out for flanged a long time ago though. Nice pick up!
