Thanks for sharing, Rich. Did your guys not want to turn down when the SE told them they were too loud?
I've run into SEs that disappear at downbeat as well. WTF.?
And...looks like your bass player was using a GK head. Is that his or was it provided backline?
I agree 100% Butch. On Saturday we had a gig at a casino and we were told to keep the volume down during the dinner hour. We ended up with only 4 vocal mics and 2 small 15" cabinets for FOH and NO sound engineer. No mics for the drums and the room was actually an open air terrace. We got big compliments on how well the vocals could be heard. Go figure huh?

Wow, I thought you looked and more importantly sounded great. So yeah, the video was a little blurry. I just imagined I was watching without my glasses and it was perfect!
Guitarist too loud? Well, there's a first for ya!
Rule #1: If the FOH guy is any good, LISTEN to his direction. If it means turning down, TURN DOWN!!!
Thanks man. I appreciate the wisedom and advice. My anxiety level goes through the roof when I'm playing and someone say's "You're too LOUD!" To me, it means I've failed to consider any dynamics and only thought about myself, not the band, and certainly not the audience.
Bumping this thread to share some pics of the 80th Widders Ball we played in Auburn CA at last weekend for The Ancient and Honorable Order of E Clampus Vitus. ECV is a fraternal organization dedicated to the study and preservation of the heritage of the American West, especially the history of the Mother Lode and gold mining regions of the area.
Checking my vocal mic....
These folks love to party!!

Packed room, Rich! Good stuff.
That's so awesome, Rich.
Too bad those guys with stringed instruments muddied up the stage.
Signature here
Awesome, looks like everyone had a blast ...
Thanks Mark..it was a fun gig!!
lol! Thanks Mark!!!
Thanks danger. Music ended at midnight, packed up and left the venue by 1:00am, and finally made it home by 2:00am. The Clampers rented a bus that was the size of an airport shuttle to ferry their members to and from their motel rooms. Smart move on their part
Bumping this thread to share some pics of last Saturday's gig. Played in a club called "The Cellar".
Two flights of stairs down below the street level and low ceilings made the night a challenge. Didn't mic the kit due to the small room and had trouble hearing my kick all night long. Played with my head down to hear it.
Had phase cancellation issues due to the 90 degree corner behind the kit. Lost the bass amp and anything around 80-90 hertz including the thump from the kick.
Used the band's goose neck mic instead of using my own mic stand: total fail....the mic kept dropping down on its own during the each set.
