great pics Rich! that kit always looks so good especially the reso! Was that the casino near Marysville?
Yes, it can be fun since it's a venue that caters to large crowds and the staff is well prepared to handle musicians and bands. The load in/out in is a pain but they pay better than the clubs (2 hours @ $500). This particular casino is very generous and provided a meal voucher for $30.00 for each guy in the band even though we only played for two hours. It took us 45 minutes to set up and we had an hour and a half to enjoy dinner with our spouses/GF.

I do a lot of Casino gigs. They're usually a blast and worth any BS usually that you have to put up with. (Dress codes, NO gambling, No alcohol, tight schedules, FBI's, load in req's etc..)
I don't like waiting for the checks though. Last year I was 4 gig checks deep into a casino because their agency was having some issues and not paying promptly. I was eventually paid, but it's still a pain. I know it's an "Agency" issue, not the casino, but the agency was blaming the casino for not paying them. FWIW - that talent agency no longer exists.
Playing Casino Del Sol in Tucson on the 17th. Love it there.

Well...it depends on the casino group that owns the casino, not necessarily the state laws.
Some casinos I can drink alcohol, just can't have it on the stage. A different casino up north wont allow us to drink 8 hours before the gig. (yes...it's in the contract and they WILL breathalize you).
Other casino's don't care if you gamble, just not during your performance hours. Some casinos do not allow you to wear jeans, others have no dress code at all.
Once casino in particular is very strict about who can be on stage. It can only be who is on the contract.
One casino pays us in cash sometimes.....other times the same casino will send us a check. But they always tell us how we will be paid a few days before the gig. It's really quirky. (but the check usually arrives by Wednesday).
One casino I work requires that all your gear/cases etc be INSPECTED by security before you can enter the facility. (really sucks when it's 117* outside).
A lot of the big name RESORTS around here have the same corporate BS regulations too and they're all different. "Insurance" reasons they say!
Played a corporate gig last night at a big resort in Scottsdale, I asked the organizer of the event if it was ok if we had a beverage from the bar and he looked at me like I was from outer space. He didn't care at all and bought us all a round. I don't think anybody really kows what the rules are sometimes.
But I can tell you've that I've been followed out to my car by security several times. I often do it just for fun to see how long it takes them.
