I think there are a lot of various measurements that I should collect eventually for this "project" - for now I have 20 sets of throne and people heights - not a great sample, in fact a poor one. But for now it will have to do. I will release my "findings" later today I hope...

Thanks for all of the input guys and gals.

EDIT: Just started looking at the data and I can already see that I need a lot more people to respond in order to get any meaningful results. With the limited data we have I can see a trend developing where taller drummers throne heights are lower relative to drummers not as tall. I created a very simplistic "Throne to Drummer" ratio where I divide the throne height by the drummer's height - early returns show that taller drummers have a lower TD ratio than shorter drummers - but as I said there is hardly enough data to properly analyze things. If anyone can drum up (pun intended) some more results for me I may be able to come up with a pretty decent little study...

More accurate because 3 centimeters are roughly 1inch, so you're using a more precise system, plus the metric system is better in general (easier to use).

But if we're here to talk drums, not the politics of measurement

Oh yeah Oglala - how could I be so dense? :-) It does show our ignorance of Native American culture though. Had never saw the flag before nor heard of it associated with Native Americans. Thanks for the lesson! If anyone else wants to know more about the Oglala Lakota Nation check this link out:

67" tall. 22" throne. 32" inseam. 35" sleeve. No, I can not tie my shoes standing up.

Way back in days of yore, when I worked for a living, I liked my desk chair as high as I could get it. My friend, who was a teensy bit taller than I am (80". Yes, he said that he had hit his head on the door jamb, but he never hurt himself.) liked it as low as he could get it.
