    Default Sakae Allmighty Birch

I hope it's ok to post this video, Just ffwd to 1:00 minute point to get to the kit review and 2:00 to hear the kit. I sat at this exact kit 2 weeks ago and was totally blown away. Here is a great review and demonstraion of the kit with no mics on it. This is why my new deam kit has gone from a DW collectors to a Sakae Almighty Birch. This kit sounds even better in person than this video.

I love the tom mounts on the bottom and the bass drum spurs are sweet as well.

I really hope to own one someday.

Check it out, the price is around $3k

Those are fantastic. My only complaint is the badge reminds me a lot of the cheap badges on the Ludwig Accent kits, I don't know why, but it makes it look cheap to me.

I admit not the greatest looking badge, maybe theu will change it but not a deal breaker for me. Kind of reminds me of the Ludwig Centennial.

The Sakae Maple has excellent looking badges I wonder why they did not put those on the birch as well

Also, I laughed when I read that post about the Ludwig accent badge, because I thought the exact same thing as I watched the video only to scroll down and see the picture of it lol

Unreal.. I just went and heard another one at an outdoor benefit and the thing sounded even better outdoors. I heard it from the parking lot and was like wow whatever kit that is sounds fantastic. I get up to the stage area and see it is a Sakae Almighty birch... Man these kits are fantastic. I did not get a chance to talk to the drummer due to having to leave unexpectedly.

Looks and sounds amazing. I agree with others about the badge, though. I did a quick search and found a Sakae kit with this which is so much better IMO:

I like the bass, but for the most part they sounded really buzzy. Maybe it was the room, but I don't see myself spending that much on a birch kit unless it's 90's or older and well preserved. The prices they put on new kits these days is insane. I mean, for nearly the same thing you already have when you bought your other high end kit - you're gonna go out and buy it again? Wut.

Pretty cool audio files on their website as well. Check it out

    http://sakaedrums.com/en/products/audio.php

I can hear a huge difference between the trilogy which is maple/poplar/maple with maple rerings and the Almighty Maple which is 6-ply maple. To me the Almighty sounds so much fuller not that the trilogy is bad but I much prefer the Almighty. Pretty cool that they have samples with the same heads as well

These prices are pretty much on par with anything DW puts out. My dream kit has been replaced, I would love one of these almighty's. The Celestial sounds even better but I would guess that price to be well above $6k and I would never pay that much for drums.

If that is all it takes, I've got a birch kit I'll sell for three grand and you can call it a dream kit...............just kidding -- they do sound very good.
I could immediately tell he was playing on clear heads because of that great click and tone.

LOL, Pretty sure Yamaha recording customs are Birch and they go for this price used. I am also pretty sure that Sakae actually made those for Yamaha sooooooo. I would spend that for any kit that blew me away like these do whether it was Maple, Birch, Mahogany, Poplar etc..I am not hung up on wood type to me if it sounds great than it sounds great. I know you can make a crappy kit sound pretty good with good tuning and head selection but it will never sound as good as DW's or these Sakae's or Tama's Bubinga Star classic for example.
