My Dad lived by Maricopa on N. Warren road, until he passed away. My brother lived in south Phoenix for awhile as well. Except for about 4 months out of the year, I really liked it down there.

Those 4 months are almost over. Even though it's not been a bad summer heat wise as far as I'm concerned.

Looking forward to the next 6 months!

Greetings from Sierra Vista, the military town. When I went to go get some flaxseed from the store, there was a pleasant sprinkling for me to walk under on the way back. I love the rain, it's like a blessing of my victories in life.

Tucson here . Love this place . I've been all over this country . I've called other places home for a while . But there is nothing like coming back to the place I was raised .
Music scene here is small but tight and very diverse . Helps if on top of playing blues , rock , country , soul/funk , pop and some jazz you can also play Mexican cumbias , corridos , boleros and Mexican rock .
    Love this place !

I was in Phoenix in fall of 2014. Experienced my first "Haboob" while there. That was trippy!
First ghost town I've ever been in that had pro sports complexes and sky scrapers. Loved it!

I haven't been down in south central AZ since my Dad passed away in 2000. Maricopa had a school, a Circle K, Post office and a few grocery stores...that was about it. Stanfield was basically a saloon on the highway, Pete's Corner was a cafe. You had to go to Casa Grande to buy anything substantial. I'm guessing it's a lot different now.

Before I made my move to North Carolina, I considered Tempe (over the years, I've spent several weeks there) and Dallas, where I lived on Ridgecrest Rd for a year. My GF and I spent a lot of off time at White Rock Lake.

On the behalf of all permanent residents I beg you to retire to Florida For six months out of the year (the beautiful warm winter of course) our cities are absolutely choked with people of the geriatric persuasion. It looks like a live version of the Walking Dead. Thousands of confused, moaning, mumbling undead staggering around looking for brains.

That sounds a lot like Nebraska from May through September. That's why we send you the snowbirds every winter. It gives the rest of us a break.

    Rudy speaks the truth.
Been in Tucson for 25 years. It's run down, ragged, but new and happening.
The food is as good as the music scene.
This town has been very good to me.
