I'm thinking about replacing the heads on my bongos with synthetics, probably Remo as they're easier to find and seem to sound better overall from what I've heard.

Does anyone have any thoughts, good or bad, on any of the different series of Remo bongo heads?

I've played FiberSkyns for years, and I like the sound and feel of them. They also last quite a while, not to mention they can take some serious solos without tearing up either your skins or your hands!

Saludos, my recommendation for the macho would be remo skindeep, is what I have been using for the last couple years. They last and are gentle on the hands. For the Hembra a thick natural cow, steer or mule will provide good bass.
