what a sweetheart you have
Hey guys,
Saw this one in at a Cashies near me. It was $350, which I thought was a decent price, but I decided to wait until payday to pick it up/decide if I really wanted it. However, yesterday my wife told me (key words there) that she rang the shop and it had already sold. I was like aw ah well, all good. Next thing, today I get a phone call at work, my wife had put the thing on hold and was picking it up. She decided to surprise me with it, which was nice of her.
Anyway, the kit itself is in need of a bit of tlc. The chromework needs a scrub up, skins need replacing, the ISS mount off the 10” is missing and the kick is missing a tension rod and claw. Nothing a bit of time (and money) can’t sort out though. It’ll look good on stage when it’s all cleaned up.
All in all, I got a 5 piece Pearl EXR (22, 10, 12, 14, 14), hi hat stand, cymbal boom stand, a full set of mutes (yay..), an unused 16” Evans tom head and a teddy which is currently trapped inside the 10” tom hahaha.
Quick setup under the house:
Not my kit, but a close up of the wrap. How funky is it!

I love that wrap, white drums are the best IMO. That looks like a fun project Congrats.

Gotta love Cashies.....eons back I scored a Gibraltar rack and a set of practice pads from there for a hundred bucks or less. Also scored cymbals, stands and other items for myself and others.

Cashies must be what pawnshops are here in the U.S? Nice looking finish on the kit...classy like your lady!!
Ditto on the very cool kit, and spouse. One of the reasons I have an ex; never could fully support my playing without feeling resentment. The fact that your wife encourages and involves herself is really really healthy. Gives me hope for finding a companion that will do the same some day.
Gonna feel great when all clean and polished and re-headed. More pics when completed, please.
Proudly playing:

A bunch of cymbals
Off-Set double pedals
I think I love to play the drums simply because you get to hit 'em!!!

Wait, wait! A teddy? As in women's lingerie(in which case your wife's very thoughtful) or as in teddy bear?

"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham

Pretty good looking drum kit. It looks in good condition. The stands look like good ones. The mutes are worth a lot too.
