Wild Horses by Gino Vanelli
Walk On The Wild Side, Lou Reed
Hi all,
I've started using brushes a lot recently in one of my bands for a number of reasons and I'm wondering if anyone knows of any songs or recordings of drummers using brushes on non-jazz songs?
I can think of plenty of jazz recordings and also have the art of playing with brushes DVD which is great, but I'm hoping to find some inspiration on how to apply the techniques to other genres!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

A lot of rockabilly cats were/are using brushes to get the right sound....
first example that came to my head is Be bop a lula by Gene Vincent....
Bluegrass!!!
Here's a nice subtle brush song:

A beautiful song with brushes on one of those crazy Remo Mondo kits
Forever blue - Chris Isaak
Currently I'm covering this with a female vocalist and it sounds great. The brush part is very simple, yet sets the mood of the tune.
