    I've always had wrapped drums, and I've used Windex multi-surface cleaner for both the drums and hardware.

    I may have to try the Turtle Wax thing...

    I hear that! I have a few vintage 60's Zildian crashes and I cleaned them a couple of years back and I still regret it! I don't like hand/fingerprints all over them, but I could care less if they're shiny or not.

    Of course, some drummers Ive seen seem to like their drums with that "smoky bar" finish~?? I dont~!

    And I much prefer the sound of clean cymbals versus deeply tarnished with the grooves filled with dirt and etc. I remember buying new cymbals for their sound - never cared much for the more muted sound of dirty cymbals. Just my preference ~~!
