    Default DW Pedals

I've been looking at getting some dw pedals and was looking as 3000s and 9000s. Apart from the price, is there any significant difference in quality or feel between the two?

Yes and no. The 9000 is a superior piece of machinery and the components and design are a step or two above. But the biggest difference IMO is the amount and ease of adjustability on the 9000. That said, if you were to take the two pedals and had them identically adjusted, they would pretty much feel about the same. The 9000 is an investment and IMO, worth the difference in price. I have 3 DW5000 pedals that I use on my practice kits and they are just fine as well. Since the change in the DW numbering system, I'm not sure where the 3000 falls in their lineup though.

I think that I read somewhere that the DW 3000 pedal is essentially a DW 5000 pedal from the mid to late 90's without the delta hinge ...

I've played DW pedals for over 15 years now. I love the 5000, so much so that I didn't think there could ever be a better pedal.

    Then I tried out a 9000.

Long story short, I now have a 9000 pedal on my kit I perform on the most and the 5000 is at home on my practice kit.

Buy used, and save a bundle. I bought my 9000 used CHEAPER than I paid for my 5000 new.

I have an older 5000 and I tried a 9000 at a local store and I just wanted to take it home... just wasn't in the budget.

I never knew a difference until I tried the DW9000. Now I have a single and double. I think the only step up would be the direct drive pedal.

I just bought a 9000...I've never been so excited. It's pricey, but well worth it. I expect to be using this pedal for the next 20 years.

I owned and played the 7002, still have and use a 5000 on a practice kit and gig with the 9002. I acquired and played all three sequentially and never regretted making the upgrades.
