I'm interested to hear your feedback after the change. I have some masters that I was considering trying the chromes on to see if they will really bring out the low-end as advertised.

SM57's but I don't use them for daily use and will probably not use them during my head change test. Too much influence on one thing or another.

I really like the Evens 360 heads, big improvement! I got a pair of them on my upper toms. The penis (LOL he was too!) at Guitar Center didn't have the one for the floor tom. Said he could order it and have it soon. I said I could too and stay home and have it dropped off...Still need to do that.
Got 'em on toms and snare of my Yamaha maples.

I have tried the Evans 360 heads as well and they really do sit well on the bearing edges. I particularly like the EC Reverse Dot as the batter head on my Black Beauty snare (14x5). What a sound! The EC2 are quite good on the toms (I have a set of Ludwig Legacy drums) but, believe it or not, the heads I really like on the toms are the Ludwig WeatherMaster Heavy (coated) heads. Must be something about a Ludwig drum with a Ludwig drum head - at least for the toms. I know a lot of folks think the Ludwig drum heads are crap, but they work really well on my kit. Of course, it all depends on what we each think is the perfect drum sound!
360, 361 whatever it takes!

So as not to be a total uninformed nimrod I checked further into the heads I'm using. They are 360 Hydraulics. More when I finally get time to install them. What a process just to get to that point. Hooooboy.

Finally the head change has been completed.
Me likey very much for visual and audial. hehe
Before
After
I don't think they would be to everyone's liking. What I find is they are a bit subdued with a tiny bit less loudness. They also have very short sustain. I don't have to use any dampening with them. I had Moon Gels on the floor toms and tone rings on mounted toms.
I even changed out the snare head and was going to put a "hazy" on the snare side but after tuning up the snare I think I'm going to leave it. It sounds fantastic.
All the heads look pretty damn cool, too.
I'm very pleased with the end result.
Bonus: These heads are so easy and quick to tune up, it's almost boring.
