Hey fellow drummers, I bought a used pair of 14" Zildjian Quick Beat HiHats.
My question is, anyone know around what year these were made?
And specifically, are they the Avedis (A) HH? I can barely make out the inscribed insignia towards the top and it looks like it says Avedis.
I have looked for a while online to try and figure this out but to no avail.
They sound great and I love playing with them. Just trying to solve this little mystery.
Thanks!

I'm not the expert but is there a hollow lettered Zildjian ink stamp on the inside of the hat? (Then late 70's to 1982) Only guessing Quick Beats started late 70's. Otherwise, I'm guessing these are mid 80's up to.....?

I got mine in the mid 80's. I love them and still use them all the time. I'd guess there's over 4000 gigs on them.
My favorite hats ever.

They are A's Avedis for sure. They are turned on a Lathe you can tell by the grooves. Hand Hammered they are not. They almost look like my New Beats except for the perforated to hat.

Yes...no question. They are "A's"

You can date them by the stamp on the cymbal. If there is a serial number, then its 1994 or later ... you can use the first two letters to date as follows:
ID=1994 IE=1995 IF=1996 IG=1997 IH=1998 II=1999 JJ=2000 JA=2001 JB=2002 JC=2003 JD=2004 JE=2005 JF=2006 ...
If you don't have a serial number, then judging by the style of inked lettering on your cymbal, late 80's or early 90's would be my guess. I have a set of new beats with the same style of lettering and I believe that they are late 80's.
Edit: I must admit, this has peaked my curiosity ... so I did some research. It appears the style of inked letting on your cymbals would date them somewhere between 1982 and 1992. Do an internet search for "A gallery of the Avedis Trademark and Ink Logo eras" and follow the link which may help you date your cymbals. And as others have already noted, your cymbals are A's (Avedis Zildjian).

Yes, they're like New Beats except the bottom hat has the extra holes for quick air escape and is flat without the bell. If '94 or later, (as dangermoney provided) they're laser etched with a serial number instead of stamped.
They definately arent hanf hammered, no zildjian is.
I have a set of quick beats perfect condition bought them new when they first came out. I think early 80's if I'm not mistaken. I use them on my Slingerlands. Watching a collective soul concert on you tube and noticed the drummer using them.
