Great job - that looks like it should be there and contrasts the finish perfectly.
Very cool . Most guys would just buy a metal cover . I like that way better. Best I have seen. And finish on drums not bad either. Thanks for sharing. Love the barbed wire. One of my bands was called Barbed wire.
So whats so wrong with laughing. Some need to learn to laugh
Nice job but you misspelled "Tex".

Very cool, you couldn't have bought anything near as good.
No conchos??????????

I like it. How did you emboss the leather?
Thanks everyone. It turned out pretty decent for a fast project. Leather crafting has been a hobby of mine since my youth.
Ha! Unfortunately, if you yell 'Tex' at one of my gigs, it will alert most guys (and some gals...) in the audience.
Funny you mentioned this. I was trying to figure out a way of incorporating deer antler into it. And I may still - I've got an idea of how to use small pieces over the top of the bolts that hold it to the shell.
Stamp/hammer combo. There are literally thousands of different stamps out there for leather crafting.

Very Nice, great idea and very personalized.
Looks awesome!
Have you thought about using black screws to hold the leather down as opposed to the metal? Either way it looks great!
I agree. The silver screws don't do justice to the beautiful leather. Black would work...or even brass or bronze. Maybe some ivory screw covers?

"Too many crappy used drum stuff to list"
Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!
"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham
AWESOME. Much cooler than a metal one. Love it.
