What band does he play in? I've only seen him in YouTube vids with Ginger.
Oh, the forum asks for more info, bio, photo, history and maybe video links when you intro a drummer in this category.
drummer: kofi baker
main style: rock
main band: unknown
brief summary: the son of Ginger Baker
Kofi and me are old mates.
We spent many nights jamming in the festering basement of
'Acorn Studio', Acton, west London, before he settled in LA.
This is way back in the 1990's.
If there is one thing I love, it's that I can still call him and talk
Crap for 20 minutes .....

A friend of mine played a gig with him last year at NAMM. Good drummer.
sorry to say never heard of him
Sad to say, but his fame comes from WHO he is and NOT his accomplishments. But he is a very good drummer.
Unfortunately true. He will always be compared with his father and not judged by his own achievements. From what little I have seen he seems to be a good drummer to me. Frank Zappa's son Dweezil had the same thing when he played, I went to see a gig about 20 years ago - he is an excellent musician. Unfortunately many of the audience were expecting a Frank Zappa cover band... Donkeys.
To comply, here's my own, personal memories and historical detail regarding Kofi Baker.
It was early 1990's when I first met Kofi and I recall he told us of having minimal contact with his dad. Kofi really suffered his absence, emotionally.
I recall being floored one night, him showing off with a grin, playing four different time signatures, at the same time, his two hands and two feet played ridiculously independent of each other.... I will always remember that.
I am a really dominant rhythm guitarist, but I don't recall ever throwing him off his timing.
I think he toured with Malcolm Bruce, Cream covers.
Eric, here's what Slinglander was referring to:

When you have a chance, this format is required for the 'Famous Drummers' section.
Thanks!
