Some I like the sound of but realistically they would not be suitable for my (limited) taste in music. I'm also pretty anal about cleaning cymbals - I'd probably ruin the finish, turn it into a big and pretty cymbal and ruin the tonal properties. Not for me.

Dont know anything about them.
I like them but they aren't for me. They are all very dark and classic sounding. But I like a big and bright tone currently with a sharp bell.
I like them i think they could make great stacks/hats like cobs did in the video. I couldn't see getting all of them maybe just 1 or 2 as an effect cymbal
Sabian!!!
Be sure to check out the Cobus "Medley" referenced at the end of this video. I was unfamiliar with this guy, but WOW! can this dude rock! This is the kind of playing that really moves me.
While I really like the sound of these Big & Ugly Sabians, they definitely do not fit into pop/rock music - as Cobus points out. Their high-frequencies are far too subdued to cut thru loud drums. Jazz is their obvious target.

I think I prefer a lot of these as crashes based on that video.
I told my boss to order some in the next cymbal batches for the store.. Hopefully he does and I can check them out in person.
Since my last post I've had a chance to play three of the B&U cymbals, and they sound exactly like the Cobus video, with variations, of course. But the one that impressed me the most was the XS20 Monarch, the most traditional-looking of the bunch. I liked this one a lot. Better high frequencies, wide-band wash, a ping sound that embraces the wash with each hit, decent bell, and very crashable. If i weren't broke right now, I'd have to take one of these home.

I'd like to hear them in person, and get the feel of them with a stick. I think if I was playing a lot of jazz I'd be more interested. From the sound on the video, they're too muted for me, but maybe in person they'd open up. I don't know.

I had a chance to play a few of them. I ended up taking home the HHX Phoenix, and tried to work it in with my band practice last week. I ended up bringing it back to the store, as it did not work particularly well for the music we play. (kinda a rock blues mix)
Using it as a ride sounded great by itself, but lacked the volume that I was hoping for. I also used it as a large crash, but found it too dry, and lacking any cut to get through guitars.
They are nice cymbals, just not for what I need them for. I see them as a jazz or fusion cymbal almost exclusively.
I've yet to find anything that can beat the versatility of my 22in AAX Omni.
Is it just me or does it seem like they cut cost of manufacturing by leaving out the finishing steps, slapped a marketing name on them, said "I meant to do that", and want to charge me for a completed cymbal? Maybe I'm cynical but that's what it looks like to me. I like clean, pretty cymbals.
I don't like them. I miss the high frequencies. Maybe if I use them for a while then I'll like them.

Even in the video, I can't hear those cymbals. Can't see them being all that good for jazz either, which relies a lot on cymbal for it's drive.
all the best...
Just like a lot of other things, I think that they're cool, but they are just not for me. I've never been a fan of darker cymbals, but it probably stems from my rock-n-roll background. I always feel like if I'm playing with some throaty electric guitars, a bass guitar, and/or piano keys, so much of the lower registers are taken up in the mix, and darker cymbals promote muddiness to my ears.
With that said, I think they would look super-rad on a well-loved, all-original vintage kit (like a faded set of Ludwigs, Slingerlands, etc.).
hahaha very interesting but true way to think about it.
But I have top of the line cymbals from Istanbul and Bosphorus and they are unfinished yet still $$$$... They were great though for my jazz and cuban sounds.
I don't think anyone into rock or metal will truly appreciate or love these tones. I think of them as jazz, fusion, cuban sounding cymbals. But to each their own.
Played a 22 inch Sabian Monarch XS and I just don't know if I really like it.
Lot's of low tones and not very much volume.
More of an eh,than a gotta have em.
I have a 20 inch medium XS ride that I find much more interesting .
Played the others @Guitar Center too and was unimpressed.

I like the king and the nova ride. I really like those rides. But I would have to play one in person before I dropped any coin.
