    Default E-pads Vs. acoustic effects

Got a question.I play an acoustic kit with a couple of Simmons pads for effects.Mainly a rim shot and hand claps for a few songs.I want to dump the electronics.Easy enough for the rim shots. The hand claps are a different story.Do any of you know if there is an instrument that can mimic a hand clap?I'm not aware of one.Maybe someone out there is.

Great question. I don't think so but look forward to seeing if anyone knows about anything on the market.

Just use the snare drum I guess. A wood block might work.

Watch at 0:15. He hits a splash sitting loosely on a snare. Sounds exactly like a clap!

Just have the singer clap in front of his mic

Hire some go-go girls to clap for you and mic them.

If you have a keyboard player, make him or her do it.

Or, just set up the pads for someone else to play.

The splash on the snare, too much extra gear. But that Sabian chopper is the answer I'm looking for.I went on youtube to hear it.I think that will do the job. Thanks a bunch NPYYZ.I'm getting sick of carrying and setting up e-drums.
