PB, I spoke at my brother-in-law's service just a week ago Saturday. He had been married to my sister since I was 15. It was a wonderful moment after a very brief illness that shocked everyone. While there were tears, there was also a great celebration. He was only 61. Glad you're back but thanks for dealing with the necessary real life stuff too. It makes a difference.

It's nice that focusing on the good times could help, and when tears are there, it's a good sign that people are holding the grieving in. Grieving will always show up, so letting it go in the moment is a healthy thing.

Thanks yohin, and I'll do my best, but that seems a long way away.

Welcome back PB we missed you, I know I didnt thank my pastor nearly enough for what he does for us here before this year. We've lost a lot of members this past year and recent horrors in the world that I'm sure you all know what I'm referring to have helped make my faith more important to me than ever before. You do a good thing Pastor Bob, I'll pray for you.

PB, couldn't agree with you more.

I was taught from a young age to not show any emotions...............and I can control them very well.

But at my father's funeral, I couldn't help it. I tried as hard as I could not to cry, but it happened anyways..................I was so mad at myself that day, my dad would have kicked my a$$................but it was good to let it go.

I could tell by all your posts that you would be great pastor..very encouraging and informative to all that requested assistance. You job is a tough one that I know I could not do. I have been in and out myself on DC, only as I really did not have much to contribute lately. I still have my drumset, although be it stacked in corner..but who knows what my future holds for me. Good to have you back and posting...this post is late as I am not on as much anymore...sorry.

Great to see you again, you and drummer are part of the glue that keeps the place running the way it should. To counter the draining effect of the funerals you have done, this is a time to rejoice! Pastor Bob is Poster Bob once more!

It's OK to leave this place for a while or more. TBH, I don't enjoy it here much of the time these days. I don't really care for some of the policies and the board itself is not up to par as far as features go, especially the mobile version.

In this end, this place has always been about the people for me. It's been difficult for me to see some of the people go, but then there has also been some other good people that come in. I'd still rather have some "old friends" back, but I also understand how life can demand changes.

Myself, the current church is a lot more demanding, and what I didn't mention was that I have also been asked to serve on a committee that oversees the health insurance for the pastors, and also going through training that could lead to a certification that could benefit many churches. For quite a while, I would come home exhausted at the end of a day, and my day wouldn't be over yet.
