hahaha I have I'll admit it.. was a long time ago. Found a fold up chair to play on. Happens to the best of us.
Today I had to take a drum set (not mine) down a huge hill, I ended up having very little help and could only get three things. I grabbed a bass with a tom attached, someone got the snare, and another person got the hi-hat. Once we got down to where we playing (it was quite a trek) someone said, "Don't you need something to sit on?" Yeah, well... duh. FAIL
I ended up raising the snare really high (level with the hats that wouldn't adjust) and played standing up.

Seems like I've forgotten one of everything through the years, lol. I'll tell you this though, once you've done it a couple of times, you don't do it that often afterward.
I use a regular chair when that happens. My fear is that there is a standing room only audience and there won't be any chairs. I need to bring more spare gear to gigs.
I haven't, but I'm surprised. So far, anything I've forgotten was something non-essential.
I forgot the seat portion of my roc-n-soc once. Fortunately I was set up over an hour early and drove the 23 mile round trip to get it before sound check.
There's a reason I have a checklist taped to the inside of my hardware case lid.
