The Tama Speed Cobra is well known as one of the better pedals out there, but what about its little brother the 310?

Currently I am searching for a new bd pedal and wondering if the price difference is worth it.

    Opinions?

I would go with the Speed Cobra. Easy to adjust, and can handle any speed your foot can throw at it.

played on one at Guitar Center definitely a smooth nice pedal. I have a regular Iron Cobra and I love it.

I got rid of my axis dbl pedals and bought the speed cobra dbl's, I like the speed cobra's much better. So I'd say yes the price difference is worth it, but that's just my opinion.

I've been playing Speed Cobras for a while now. I picked up the double after my old yamahas developed a squeak that I couldn't get rid of. I really like the speed cobras, but found the better wears down a little too fast. I've since chaned the beaters out to DWs. I like the little extra weight in the DW beater, and love how smooth the pedals are. I even bought a single for a backup, and to keep on my second set.

I've tried all the brands. No question the DWs are some fine high quality pedals, but at a premium.

I have found the pedal of my dreams and if you can find them on sale, there's no better value out there, IMHO.

Thanks for all the replies, y'all.

I've definitely decided on the speed cobra.

I don't know why I seem to have an opinion on every question asked on this forum. But I'm bored right now, so . . . .

Do any of the major manufacturers make a bad pedal anymore? I go to GC and try out so much gear so often that the guys there just automatically hand me a pair of sticks and a drum key when I walk in. Honestly, I haven't played one pedal that I didn't think I could make work for me with a little adjustment.

But . . . the Iron Cobra always has that little "extra" that makes it shine. You will not regret your decision.

Has anyone else had any issue with the bearing for the slave side beater developing play on their speed cobra double pedal? When I detatch the spring, there is some play in the bearing. There is only minimal play in the bearing when the spring is holding tension on the beater. I'm a little concerned about the longevity of the bearing.

I've had SC's for several yrs. now. The linkage U-joints have a little play, but I've not noticed any bearing play. The beaters do not last long enough. I've got Danmar red wood beaters on them now. I do like the pedals though.

I have both the Speed Cobra Dbl. pedal and the DW 9002 Dbl. pedal. I like both, but I tend to use the DW more. Just my preference. The Speed Cobra is a nice pedal and still a good choice. Especially for the cost difference.
