There are lots of stories about how this endeavor was just about the money for everyone involved. Then again, what isn't?

Interestingly, these are about the same prices you would pay to a scalper for a front row ticket to any of these still performing.

I love Ten years after and Canned heat,the "Going home solo" that Alvin Lee played while might be a little redundant, still was cool great blues player with a touch of Jazz..
And you can't get more organic earthy sounding than Canned Heat's "On the road again". singing high falsetto "Lord have mercy on my wicked son" hehe.

Not as much as I would have thought. Can't remember where I read it but big, big name bands and musicians get $200K+ for headlining a major festival nowadays.

exactly. The two guys that (organized) it were close to a mil in the hole if not a mil before anybody started playing.
