The MCX replaced entire series of Masters in 2005. Love the ludwigs nice color. Let us know how they compare in sound.
my pearl Masters, mint condition, not sure on the age, normally i only go 1 up 1 down so won't be missing the extra tom
for a ludwig vistalite, 3 years old, mint condition.

I think I'd have to find a way to have both.
Signature here
Do you think the Ludwig Vistalites would be as versatile as your Pearl kit?
do the spurs look ok? i thought they were the ones that go into the bass drum??

someday I will own an acrolite kit. That Ludwig is gorgeous
seems pretty even to me. I like both. I would have to put a clear head on the BD reso for ludwig though
Ludwig Classic Maple 22x16,10x8,12x9,16x16
7" Moon Gel Practice Pad
Sabian HHX Legacy
Decide whether this is love for the craft or simply an ego thing
http://www.redskymary.com/ NOT MY BAND, JUST A GREAT LOCAL BAND WHO SHOULD BE SOOO MUCH BIGGER IMO
Mark, What model Fender guitar is that standing next to the drumset, behind the amp?
GeeDeeEmm
I'd go with Bish's suggestion........get both..........if that is not feasible..........I'd go with the Vistalite
The vistalites are pretty - but I'd keep the Pearl set. Other than pretty the vistalites don't sound as good IMO, and I would be worried about cracks and the shells going cloudy with age - I think the novelty would wear fairly quickly. If you can afford both go for it, but don't trade the Pearls.
i'm gonna stick with my pearl kit, it's the 3rd masters in this finish i've had, and i know i'll really regret getting rid of it, someone mentioned about the novelty of a Vistalite kit wearing off after a while, i think that would be right with me.
plus what i've read online it sounds like there a really acquired taste sound wise.
cheers for the comments everyone.

I look at the parts that go into each kit, there is a lot more value items on the Pearl kit, die cast hoops, better isolation mounts are the two big ones. You made a better decision keeping them. The Ludwig owner was probably not happy.

yeah if I had to choose only one I'd keep the Pearl... the other is more novelty. But what a show piece
Good decision. The Pearl kit.
