Maybe they would if you turn in the Chevron panels? Aren't they basically the "badges" on the Renown 57?

Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!
"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham
Make sure you post pics when the renovation is complete!

What a silly policy. I 've read other posts elsewhere (sorry) about the continuing quality controls with USA-made Gretsch drums (wrinkling wraps, dented bearing edges, warped hoops, misaligned floor tom legs, among other woes - and one poor soul had all but one of these problems on two consecutive brand new Brooklyn Series sets!), and Gretsch is concerned that somebody might try to bootleg a set of Catalinas? Seems they have a lot more to be concerned with. (By the way, I've seen zero persistent QC problems with Renown or Catalina kits.)

If you look on GC or MF websites, you'll see cheap China made equipment like amps, speakers, etc., that are copies of high quality stuff. The worst part is that they sometimes use the same name (or one extremely similar) but change the spelling slightly.....like use a C instead of a K, use two L's instead of one, that kind of thing. If you're not real familiar with the product, you can easily be deceived.
I'm not surprised at the Gretch badge issue. Company names & logos are trademarked, and most companies are very protective of them. I've seen employees get fired because they had their employer's name printed on pens, notepads, shirts and other legitimate business items without consent from the company owner/CEO.

Had issues with QC on my USA Customs. I feel bad for the guy with the Brooklyn kit. I almost demanded my money back from the store when I found these issues. My Renowns (Taiwan) were perfect.

Re-creating a Gretsch drum is really simple. Keller shell, some aluminum fence paint, some die cast hoops and bingo. So Gretsch is kind of wise not selling replacement badges.
