Love the shot with teh moon, Eddie!
I live near the Luke Air Force Base. The jets fly over my home all the time. I like to take pics, and often work a little "art" into them with Photoshop sometimes.

Don't mean to make you guys jealous. But back in the early fifties two of my neighbors were train engineers. My dad owned a business next to the tracks.
The switch engines were still the old steamers. I would be sitting on the baggage cart watching them go back and forth. Once in a while the stopped next to me and old Red yelled " common Joey Hop, on" so back and forth I rode for about an hour. Main thing I remember was ,the smell of coal, and it was hotter than "H" in the cab.
Would never happen these days.

Hard to believe but these first two photos were both taken YESTERDAY...just a few hours apart.
Another one of the F9A for Bisho...this time with 2 F9B units and the other A.

That's a real funky color on the green and black one. Catches your eye.

Yeah, the green is an odd shade. Those are Norfolk Southern's special ECO units built with Federal and State grant money. They are assigned to certain areas from where the state money came from. Those specifically are headed to Atlanta Georgia. They've apparently got more economical engines.
Here's a pan shot of the big blue I shot yesterday before work...

And this hopper is new and dear to my heart. It's a Bessemer and Lake Erie ore jenny. Why? Well. When I was growing up in Western PA the BLE's orange and black engines are what I remember. Also because that very ore car was build in 1952 in Greenville PA at Greenville Steel Car Company.
My grandfather worked at GSCC from the late 1940s until the early 80s. He built railroad cars and chances are good he had a hand in building that car.

And finally...not a train. The Bessemer Court in Pittsburgh before sunrise.
