Great pictures Marko.
I'm a train nut too.
I know we've got some guys here that know their way around a camera. And I don't think we have a thread. LET'S GET AFTER IT.
Post your best work here.
I've been taken up photographing trains lately.
Here's a few to start...
The Conrail heritage unit.

The Norfolk Southern "Honoring Our Veterans" unit rolling through on Memorial Day weekend.

The Jersey Central Lines heritage unit hustling through old Pennsylvania Railroad signals.

The lead locomotive is an ex-Conrail unit and the second loco caught fire once.

“I did not trip and fall. I attacked the floor and I believe I am winning.”
That's awesome!
I'll be in this thread for sure!
Work blocks my photos so I'll post later

Had to throw this up....the Norfolk Southern Office Car Special comes out of the tunnel and into Enola Yard.

Cool train pics. Didn't realize that was such a big thing.
Beautiful pics guys! I'm just wondering though.... all those train pics. Where the heck do you find trains without graffiti all over them? You should see the ones that pass by my work place. The only cars without it are the engine and if there is a caboose.
Love all the pictures, guys, but REALLY the train pictures! Wow!! When I was a kid, a friend of mine and I used to ride our bikes to local train tracks and hang out to watch the trains go by. Great days! I'm a pro (avocation) portrait shooter, and usually don't find other than people images all that inspiring, but these are great!
How about the band new 50MP Canon digitals? Too bad I just spent all my toy money on a new DW kit
Now, just a tiny bit less than an absolute drum newbie
DW Collectors Cherry kit, Ludwig Black Beauty Snare, DW SuperSolid Oak/Cherry Snare, DW Sabian Vault Edge Snare
Train people are MANIACS. I've just gotten into taking train pics over the last month or two. These people are crazy.
There's plenty of graffiti on them here too....just not the engines.
I just bought a new rig in April. A Canon 70D. Love this camera. It replaced a digital Rebel XTi I used for probably 8 years.
Here's a real heritage unit...an old GP60 leading this train into Harrisburg. They would stop on the old Reading RR bridge to spin the power, as this GP60 doesn't have cab signals and can't lead the train to western PA.

Here's the Jersey Central heritage crossing the longest stone arch bridge in the world! The Rockville Bridge.

This was the very first time this engine had seen rail service. I caught him on his way from Altoona PA to Spencer NC. This is NS 9-1-1. A unit honoring First Responders.

and the Interstate RR heritage as it reaches the end of the "Pittsburgh Line" in Harrisburg PA.

The largest diesel locomotive ever built! That yellow fleck crossing the bridge is the Union Pacific DDA40X. Measures 98.5' long! It was restored by Norfolk Southern to pristine condition is was making it's way from the Altoona Works shops in PA to St. Louis, MO.
Got lucky that I was in Pittsburgh for business travel on the day it moved.
