Avenged Sevenfold.
I love their balance of heavy hard core and melodic song structure.

Lake Street Dive, because their bass player, Bridget Kearney, is amazingly gifted and it would be fun to be the rhythm section with her. Their drummer, Mike Calabrese is also amazingly gifted. If I could play like he does, I would be one happy camper.
JLPonty ,Mahavishnu,McCoy Tyner,Tool,Steve Khan,Tull.
Give me a couple of weeks of rehearsal to get my chops back to where they should be, and I'd have a blast.
To paraphrase Ansley Dunbar:
My groupies these days are old and geeky drummers ,but I gave up 16 year old's back in the 80's.

David Bowie/ Gary Numan/NIN I'm pretty shure there is a lot more off the top of my head.
So many great responses. The diversity is really cool.
For me...Jethro Tull when John GlassCoc* was alive. He was their best bass player, IMHO, and I would have loved to jam with him. The music was so rocking and yet so unique with room for a lot of experimentation, too.
I wanted to say the Mighty Led Zep, but that felt like flat out sacrilege.
Proudly playing:
Doc Sweeney Drums
A bunch of snares
A bunch of cymbals
Off-Set double pedals
I think I love to play the drums simply because you get to hit 'em!!!
NOFX.. Or Me first and the gimme gimmes...
Or another fun band... I saw a few people say foo fighters, although i love the members of that band and think they are great i find their music very boring.. all opinion of course
Ok. No one has said it.
The Beatles! The thought of all those girls screaming and chasing after me makes me Giddy!
“I did not trip and fall. I attacked the floor and I believe I am winning.”
I'm gonna say Rolling Stones, because it ain't just wishful. I actually believe I could pull it off.
all the best...
Collective Soul (are they still around?) or Garbage.
Great tunes and they RAWK when they need to.
Rich
DW drums and Paiste cymbals.
Collective Soul is on tour this year. Not to many stops though. There in my town in September.

I keep thinking about this and I can't think of any band I want to play drums for. The rigors of gigging keeps me from wanting to be in a band.
I'm gonna go with Deep Purple.. Come on let's go SPACE TRUCKING!
Devildriver, mushroomhead, tool. Too bad I am not good enough for any of those.
Mapex Saturn 6 pc
14x6 mapex stainless steel snare
Zildjian,Paiste, Meinl
DW5000 td4 double pedal
I have this little mp3 player with these ear buds and I wear this under these big ear muffs like people at the riffle range use. Well I was drumming to BOC's Burning for you,Maiden's Running Free, among other tunes.
Well I quit that cause I had work to do but I'm still wearing these ear buds and Space trucking comes on and I'm quickly reminded of the greatness of Ian Paice. Man what a drummer! He's got it all ya know chops, killer grooves. just a snazzy style Buddy Rich like in someways.
Thrice or Sunny Day Real Estate. Maybe Live.
A simple, elegant design is good engineering.
Axis | Ayotte | Evans | Gibraltar | Ludwig | Pro-Mark | Remo | Roc-N-Soc | SKB | Taye | Vic Firth | Whitney| Yamaha | Zildjian
One of the great old blues groups like Muddy's band or Little Walter's group (essentially replacing Fred Below). That or KISS.
