This is what serious musicians live with.

Even though I lived in Jersey, I was only 15 minutes from Manhattan.

In a 25 mile radius of where I lived, there were probably 10,000 and possibly 20,000, musicians, so guitar players, keyboard players, bass players, even singers, were easy to find.

Finding musicians on the same page with you, aye, now therein lies the rub.

When we put our band together 40+ years ago, we had bass and drums.

We were looking for a guitarist/singer, or guitarist and singer, keyboards and rhythm guitarist. Because we had good management and gigs once we got everything together, we had "pick of the litter" as far as getting musicians for auditions. Getting musicians that were willing to put the time and effort into a band was a totally different thing.

If someone isn't on the same page with you now, odds are good that they won't be in the future.

Late to everything. The. Just stops talking in the middle of a conversation. Then won't hear back for hours or days.

Somebody suddenly quit one of my bands. Fortunately I have other bands to continue gigging while we find a replacement. And it looked like business was growing for that band.

I think being a musician at all entails a bit of flakiness. You should hear what guitarists say about drummers.

    all the best...

Had a flaky member, basically a one man blues machine, but you never knew if he'd come to practice or what. never responded to emails, you had to call him 3 times...

You're better off without these types. Even if your ambitions arent high, it's better to have less talented players you can rely on than talent that's unavailible.
