So last weekend I played a benefit show outside with a couple other bands. The drummer (I never caught his name) was a super nice guy to chat with but had a super crazy kit setup!
Everything was suspensded on a custom rack that was on it's own floor board. They literally used like 10 guys and lifted this kit onto stag as one entire piece.
Bass drums suspended.... and custom super long cannons
That's bananas.
Mmm... Saturns.
That rack looks like it's actually a riser! What are those, 30" deep kicks?
SONOR 6 pc Special Edition 3007's red maple, old Pearl Brass 14x6 FF snare, Yamaha Tour Custom maple 8 pc., Tama 4 pc., honey amber B/B, Ludwig Supralite chrome 14x6.5 steel snare, Paiste, Saluda & Zildjianhttp://www.facebook.com/DerailedRockers/
Loaned out Slingerland upgraded 4 pc 1963 black, wrapped maple + 14" Pearl birch FT
Looks like more money in that setup than I have in all my cars...combined.

"Too many crappy used drum stuff to list"
Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!
"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham
Wow!......nine lug base drums?
Basses look like oil drums.
“I did not trip and fall. I attacked the floor and I believe I am winning.”
Hey if you got the time and money why not?
I think that is a very cool setup. Those guys look like they spared no expenses on gear and putting on one heck of a show.
Signature here
I would like to watch the set up or tear down of the drum set.
Looking at the wheels under it, I wonder if most of that set up are on pivots. He folds everything to the center and rolls the whole coo ten caboodle into a trailer?

The looks of that kit are just beyond wild - I like that! And vents on the batter heads? How did that sound, Spaz? This guy is clearly devoted to his craft and to the mechanics of the kit. What was the name of the band? I would love to have this guy on the web site to discuss his kit.

That is an intense set up. The lugs make me think that it may be a custom OCDP kit. Super nice gear.
Like anything else. He puts his money in his kit. Some in their cars, home entertainment systems, guitar collections etc etc. He must sound awesome like some have mentioned sure would like to hear him play and talk about his kit.
Cool kit, makes me wish I still had two bass drums, darn it.
That is insane. And it also looks extremely costly, but hey, if ya got the means, more power to you!
I've never seen those kick pedals before, though. Anyone else familiar with them?
I didn't get pictures of him taking it down but it was just as crazy. He had a custom box built with perfect size shelves and containers for everything and had it on a trailer. It was crazy!
How was his playing, Spaz? Is there any video from that day?

That is way cool. Love the riser.
21 posts in and not a single "Id hate to have to lug that around/set up/tear down" post? You guys are slipping.
Oh, that's probably the thing I like best about that kit - HE has to lug it around, set it up and tear it down!

Wow! Down here we'd call that the "Hot SetUp"!
He's even got a fan to keep him from getting too hot and sweaty!
I like the looks of it but don't know just how comfortable it would be for me.
I'm going to let the newbie in me show, but, I see he has a pedal for each bass and a highhat pedal, what what is the other pedal for? Does it have something to do with the blue cable I see?
Take care!
Take care and seeya!
