    Ok...I'm in .

There isn't really a official band picture since we are really the backup for George Howard . Usually it's just him in the pictures but we did get this one of us all . This was an outside gig for the Martin Luther King Day here in Tucson . I'm the Mexican...

And the Catalina's in the background....

We don't have a "group" pic, but this was taken Thursday night. We did an outdoor semi-acoustic street gig for the local downtown businesses. There is one member (steel guitar player) missing. It was the first time I used my home-made jungle kit. It worked great. Also, the flag pole holder on the light post behind me made a great stick holder!

    Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!

"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham

I haven't been in a band in a while, but here's a pic of one of my old bands. It was from an impromptu shoot after we'd just stepped off stage

This is Three Quarter North, from this summer.

Bluegrass, old-time fiddle & jugband tunes, and hillbilly acid rock.

Photo was taken just before our gig at the public library in Bethlehem, NY. We were supposed to play outdoors on the green, but due to weather they moved us inside.

I have a long history of being kicked out of libraries for drumming on tables, talking too loud, xeroxing my butt, etc., etc. So the opportunity to play my percussion in a library without so much as a "ssshh" was priceless !!

That's me on left, if you haven't guessed. At 54, I am the youngest guy in the band ! Ha !

This was from last Saturday night. By far the biggest gig I've ever played. Estimated crowd was 1500-2000 people. We opened for a pretty well known Texas artist (well known in Texas). You can see his tour bus in the background.

Cody Johnson. He's had nine #1 hits on the Texas music radio charts.

Oh and, I quit wearing a hat BECAUSE everyone else wears one. Looked funny to me to have everyone in a hat. But make no mistake...I own several.

^ You've got to be kidding. I can't imagine a band called this let alone wearing the same t-shirts. Funny!

All the information and discussion about equipment and playing technique
is great, of course. But I must say I really enjoy "postcard" threads, such as this. Pictures and stories about about members' own musical endeavors in their hometowns all over the country (and around the globe, for that matter).
    Please continue to share, folks.

Have you guys ever seen this site?

(If link is removed....Google "band pics against a wall" and click on rock and roll confidential)

This site has been around for years...and they have section that posts pics of bands - much like the ones posted here - and they make comments about them.

    These are hilarious!
