Gretsch Taylor Hawkins snare

Hey gang,
I saw one of these pretty cheap at a GC near me. True to form for most retail stores, it's not tuned well so I was wondering if anybody here owned one.

I found an old thread of birdie's from a while ago. Birdie, do you still like it?

Anybody else use it?

Yes I still have it, I like it a lot.
Stays tuned and haven't had to replace the batter yet, I think because it is an emporer X and pretty thick
But the reso blew out, after about 18 months.not sure if it was playing or if I just damaged it tearing down.
I prefer it to my Mapex snare, it's just louder, and in my band I need to cut through a lot of guitars!

Thanks, Birdie. Too bad you're not here in the states. My daughter is around your age & is forming an all-girl hard rock/punk band. She is having a tough time finding a good drummer.
