    Yes, I remember Markadiddle.
    I was a dissenter.
    It's a gimmick to eliminate overtones by NOT tuning your drum. The snare sounds weak, distant, soft and attackless.
    May as well put a towel over it....or a few wallets. Not to mention the stress it places on your rim and head.

    I've got to strongly agree with Bob on this one. But - if you like it, it's a quick and dirty way to get the sound that a lot of people enjoy. If you've just given up on learning to tune a snare properly, this could be your answer.

    Just did this to my Hybrid absolute maple with stock heads and it sounds 50% better, pretty much got rid of over ring without moon gel and feels more responsive. Love it
