I've tried to find this out. I believe they may have changed their name to Sound Percussion Labs now?

Myself, I assumed they were owned by Guitar Center/Musicians Friend. They could have them made at any one of dozen of manufacturing places in Asia. No doubt the place makes hardware under many brand names. I have one of their snare stands. No complaints with it.

    all the best...

I can't say for sure, but I have my ride cymbal mounted on a boom clamp on all 3 of my kits---the first one I bought was Gibralter ($40), the other 2 are SP ($25) If you lay them side-by-side they are IDENTICAL! Coincidence? I doubt it

All my booms are sp. And I think my snare is. Even have a 2 leg hihat stand. It all holds up, but I think like kay-gee said made for gc.

Pretty much all he hardware in the world is made by a company in China whose name I can't recall at the moment.
Someone may chime in with the info. It's here on the forum somewhere.

From what I remember, Gibraltar was making their hardware pieces a few years back. As for the drums, my guess is probably Chinese giant musical instrument manufacturer Jinbao.

    FWIR

They made drum sets for a lot of major manufacturers entry level / intermediates as well as Percussion Plus and other student level kits.
Not 100% on this, if someone else knows....

I have a couple SP boom cymbal stands as well. I'm impressed with them. Several years of light gigging and practice every week, and no issues. I think I paid $49 for the pair of them. Wish I could find more of them. I keep looking at the SP 4pc Street kit (18/10/13/snare), but haven't pulled the trigger yet. $299 for a compact kit with Birch blended shells, 2.3mm tom hoops and wood Bass hoops is a pretty good deal. Just wish they came in different colors.

    Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!

"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham
