Get anything drum related for Christmas?

Bought my Christmas gift last month, a Saturn lV exotic ash burl. Still waiting for my 14x14 fl/tom and my 8x8 tom. It will be like Christmas again when those arrive.

Got a set of Pearl die cast hoops to complete my Reference snare drum. I bought it for a steal awhile back,but someone had replaced the original diecasts w/triple flange. Still looks and sounds awesome, but I prefer diecasts most of the time anyway.....

While we don't decorate any longer, or really exchange gifts, I can't get the better half to completely give it up. So I got a hand full of Vintage Emperors that I wanted to try out. Got em mounted yesterday and so far I really dig em.

That's pretty darned cool. A guitarist friend I used to jam with back in California has an autistic son who really started coming out of himself when we were all around playing and has continued to do so. I know it took a lot of work and my friends part as well. God bless.

Received a Ludwig Black Beauty, the Ludwig millennium throw off

I could not find a BB in a 13 size (except a 3 inch depth) so I bought a 7 X 13 Black Magic for my Christmas..............I like it fine.

"The Ludwig Book" and "The Slingerland Book", both by Rob Cook ...

Yes, scanned through both of them really fast to get a quick fix and now in the process of actually reading them. Planned for next year is "The Gretsch Drum Book" and "The Rogers Book" by Rob Cook and probably a few more about the history and heritage of our great American drum companies ...

I asked for cash from everyone so I can buy (used) second snare from cl ,going to wait for a 13x6.5 maple (maybe birch) to come along.

I have a very small drum room pretty much just to fit my 8pc kit..so I need a nice snare with nice crack and I like the 6.5" for body, but I don't want it too loud,would you guys recommend maple or birch,there is a 13x5.5 maple,but not sure the 5.5 may be too bright

just thought I'll add if I may...Most of what determines the loudness is how hard you hit it.
