    Default Retiring Today!!!

Well, that day has finally arrived. I am retiring today!! I'm sitting here in the office with a retirement balloon attached to me, that follows me wherever I go.

It is a strange feeling - but it sure feels good. Waiting for me at home is a brand new copy of Stick Control, a new Boss Dr. Beat metronome and some instructional books that will teach me how to read drum music, something I have always wanted to do. (Guess what I'm going to be doing in my newly found free time.)

I still can't get my head around the fact i will have 8 more hours per day to do whatever I want. What a concept!

My wife retires a year from now and we plan to start travelling at that point. In the meantime she is determined to help me fill my days with 'productive' activities. How does that song go again? "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss...' LOL

    Cheers!

Congrats man. I retired in 2002 at a prime age of 52 lol and have enjoyed it everyday. I had so much time to play drums that I have lost interest. Too busy doing other things. So congrats from one Canadian to another.

    Retirement:

First you forget names; then you forget faces; then you forget to zip up your fly; and then you forget to unzip your fly.

    .............and so it goes.

I've been retired for 10 -12 years. You are going to love it, providing the wife lets you.

Congrats, now go hide until she goes to work.

"Too many crappy used drum stuff to list"

    Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!

"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham

Congratulations! From one retiree to another, this is gonna be way better than you think it will. Thrust me. Monday might be a little weird, but by Tuesday, at the latest, you'll be used to it.
