I just saw a news broadcast that reflected the family intentionally kept all this quiet until his death.

His music was not my favorite but one must give praise where praise is due.
I can recall a local band in Dallas during the mid-70s that did all his stuff along with Mott the Hoople, etc..............these guys were awesome players and had some of the best PA gear I had ever seen at the time.
Technically, not a tribute band, but very close.

He was a little....unique.....but definitely a major influence on rock. Great singer, and I think an all-around good and classy guy. Ziggy Stardust remains one of my all time favorite albums. His duet with Bing Crosby was a classic.

"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham

Just started listening to this and that Blackstar track is painful to listen to but I like Lazarus so far.

One of my favorite duets of all time. David Bowie had an amazing singing voice.

I loved what I saw of him, I just thought he was an all around original and great person. He bears a striking resemblence to Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth(my biggest influence). Really wish the doctors would buckle down and get to figuring out a cure for cancer already, how many more have to fall to the hands of it before they do something about it?
