Fast crash is just a type of crash. I have an A custom 14" fast crash

Isn't a fast crash thinner, slightly less volume and shorter sustaining than the standard a-custom? That's my rookie understanding anyways.

Yes. Almost like a larger splash.

One sounds rather customary but the other is much faster??

    I dunno

I listen to tons of sound bites of cymbals everyday, and I gotta tell you. A whole lot of them sound totally the same to me regardless of the brand or designation.

    all the best...

Just like the name implies - it crashes and gets out of the way quickly. They are thinner than the standard crash and tend to be lower in pitch for the same size.
