Yea at his age and history he is lucky to be alive !
I wonder if he is still in financial trouble and needed to keep gigging .
I was never a fan of his but I do have a good amount of respect for what he has accomplished and all the people he influenced . And I never met the guy but the consensus is that he is a sour old grump quick to take a swing at you . Be that as it may , he is a human being , I hope he can find peace in his retirement and God bless him .
I'm told by one of his friends that he has Aortic Stenosis - making the surgery he needs very risky.

Surgery is never good. A lot of risk. Sorry to hear this.
Gretsch USA & Zildjian(What Else Would I Ever Need ?)
Sad to hear. I think with all of his accomplishments, he can retire and say he had one Helluva life!
Wow, I just learned a lot about Ginger from this documentary that I never knew. Man he is a great drummer. Thanks for sharing.
