Very nicely done.
I wanted to wait until I'm a more regular member here, but admittedly I'm having a hard time figuring out how to connect here socially. So, perhaps just posting this will help that along.
As I said in my introduction, I've been playing seriously for 3 years, but I first played as a teen for a few years without much success. This is my latest video, demonstrating my current skills.
I don't do this professionally, but I do have long term plans to offer my skills as a remote session drummer in my spare time. My profession is not music, and I don't anticipate it ever being so. Just want this to be something I do for fun, and perahaps eventually some income on the side (but I'll do it whether or not that happens).
Very nicely done.
Very impressive drumming, especially for only 3 years drumming. You seem to have picked up a lot of little nuances that takes most of us (especially me)years to acquire. Nice timing and the dynamics were outstanding.
Gorgeous kit as well what model is it? and what mics are you using?
Ludwig Classic Maple 22x16,10x8,12x9,16x16
7" Moon Gel Practice Pad
Sabian HHX Legacy
Decide whether this is love for the craft or simply an ego thing
http://www.redskymary.com/ NOT MY BAND, JUST A GREAT LOCAL BAND WHO SHOULD BE SOOO MUCH BIGGER IMO
Well done. Beautiful drum kit. Welcome to DC.
Thank you!
Thanks for complements! I practice a lot. I started with lessons 3 years ago, and I've been taking private lessons for two years now with Bruce Becker. That has made a huge difference in my development.
The kit is a Sonor SQ2, medium maple shells. Microphones are Shure, I don't have all the model numbers for those off the top of my head, and I'm not home at the moment. I can get a full list later, if you're interested.
Thank you! And glad to be here, seems like a nice group of people.
I enjoyed that very much. Doing great for short time you have been playing . I like that it shows you like what you are doing . Thanks for sharing and welcome to DC. Don't worry about fitting in . This is a great place with lots of different people that for the most part get along well with others.Just watch out for drummer he tends to mother us all lol
So whats so wrong with laughing. Some need to learn to laugh
Great video, you look like your having plenty of fun playing too.
Have you got you're ticket for the rock train? You gotta earn that Ticket!!

Very impressive. Fun to watch and looks like you were having fun playing it.

Thoroughly enjoyed watching that. Great job!
Only three years? Well my friend, you are off to a great start! Thanks for sharing the video. It takes confidence to put yourself out there and you have much to offer.
Thanks for all the complements! Yes, I do have a lot of fun with it! It may have only been 3 years, but I did start with the small foundation from playing as a teen, and for the last 3 years I've practiced an average of 4 hours a day.
I'm glad it's enjoyed, that's what we all want when we perform!

Very nice! Your very smooth around the kit and I like the snare work. Great choice for s song too...one of my favorites!

"Too many crappy used drum stuff to list"
Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!
"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham
Very well played! Thank you for sharing, and welcome to Drum Chat.
Ha! Heck no. I grew up in the '70s on John Denver, but I admit I had forgotten that song. Annie's Song is my mom's favorite. I try to learn some of his songs on guitar, but I can only play basic first position chords. Some of his stuff is more complicated than it sounds. James Taylor, Al Stewart and Jim Croce are others that I love, but struggle with on guitar. Never tried to play drums to any of it, but now you brought it up, I may try to bring a few Denver songs into my band.

Nice work. For only 3 years that very impressive.
Some constructive criticism
1) Some parts a bit rushed but you do great recovering
2) Your toms are tuned super high and they feel chocked to me. But that's personal preference.
Other than that you have great spirit playing and that's what counts. Keep it up!
Great playing, I enjoyed it. You have the ability and skills to play for fun or professionally. Nice feel, technique and form. Good luck.
Yeah, this song was really hard to nail. It's pretty loose with the pocket, and all over the place with the tempo! But that's one of the reasons I took the challenge.
On the drum sound, yes, I noticed that myself. They don't sound that tight in the room. My recording skills are still pretty low, and I'm struggling to capture the sound I want. It always comes out wth too much resonance or too much attack.
Thanks for the feedback, Inappreciate it and it helps me get better!
Thank you! That's quite a complement, I hope I live up to it!
Here's a new one. This is one of the songs I'm doing with the Beatles tribute band I'm in. Revolution!
(Note: I was having a hard time getting the VV tag to work, if it doesn't for you either, here's the link: https://vimeo.com/164891670)
I feel like there are too many drums in my kit for this . . .
Good job.
Very nice!
