Saw Simon Phillips last night

Got a chance to see Simon Phillips last night playing with the Jazz Pianist Hiromi and Anthony Jackson on Bass. Was an awesome, and Simon did not disappoint. They did 2 sets (I saw the early one), and played for just over an hour. They were debuting tracks for the upcoming new Hiromi Trio Project album being released April 1.

Phillips is a great feel drummer...............love his knack for fills with unexpected accents.

Also seen Jackson play live twice and that guy is a killer bassist.

I've seen Jackson play quite a few times when he played with Buddy in his small club when he had a sextet back in the '70's with Kenny Baron, Sonny Fortune, Jack Wilkinson, Jackson, Buddy, and I can't think of the last member of the group.

I've seen him play small venues twice with Di Meola..................wow.
