Hard to believe but it's true. There will never be another Prince the entertainment industry has lost a truly talented individual.
This is crazy. His stop at the Quad City International Airport in Moline, Illinois, last week, is my local airport.
R.I.P. Prince.

That's just crazy! I grew up about a mile from him when he lived in Minneapolis. I met him once and he was kind of an arrogant jerk.
Very talented man, indeed.
RIP Prince.
I never bought any of his stuff but I do acknowledge the many shades of talent he developed.
I never got to see him perform in a live setting but I did have the pleasure of attending a show of one of the tours of Ringo's All Starr Band when Shiela E. was behind the kit.............the lady can play.

I didn't go but his last show was here in Atlanta at The Fox Theatre I believe. Just a week ago. Respected what he did but was never a big fan. He looked kind of funny on a motorcycle in that movie. I think he was only like 5'3" or something

Great entertainer...launched many careers. Dead at 57? Dang...I'm 56.
I've been saying this since the beginning of the year, especially after losing Bowie & Fry, many of us (especially if you are 40+) are entering the window of time in our lives where the musicians that were significant to us in our younger years will be passing on.
Unfortunately.....there will be many more.
(And somewhere Kieth Richards is laughing about it.)

He was a fantastic (under rated, IMO) guitarist. Obviously talented in many aspects...but I was never really into any of his music. Too "pop" for me.....except for a few of his R&B/soul stuff. Purple Rain remains one of my farvorite songs of all time. I always wanted to hear Ray Charles do a cover of it.

Just found this briefing.............
Prince was reportedly treated for a drug overdose six days before his death on Thursday, according to TMZ.
Prince's jet plane made an emergency landing in Moline, Ill., last Friday due to a medical emergency. His rep told Variety at the time that the singer was struggling with the flu.
According to the TMZ report, doctors gave Prince a "safe shot" after he was rushed to the hospital, something reportedly given to counteract the effects of opiates. Doctors apparently advised that Prince stay in the hospital for 24 hours — he left, however, after three hours.
Authorities found Prince unresponsive in an elevator when they arrived Thursday morning, responding to a 911 call. First responders tried CPR, but were unable to revive the pop star and he was pronounced dead at 10:07 a.m.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Prince's death. His autopsy will be performed on Friday.

Like everyone else I'm curious as to what happened. I certainly hope is wasn't a "party drug" overdose. (Belushi, Farley, etc..)
A friend of mine died last year of what many called a "Drug Overdose" - but it was a combination of a prescribed pain killer, (Oxy or Percocet ) some alcohol and something else that was over-the counter. (Can't remember and I'm sure he smoked a joint too. )
There's a reason they put those little stickers on the pill bottle that read : do not take with alcohol.

Eddie.................that is an impressive and inclusive list.
McCartney just played a big arena gig near here @ 74 years old he did a 3-hour show playing 38 songs.
I saw Tommy Shaw last Fall with STYX and that guy still has the energy of a 30-year old rocker................Sucherman was great, as expected.
I have also recently seen Huey Lewis and Heart.
Although Huey has a good time and a good band, his voice is about gone.
Those two Wilson girls are as strong as ever................so was Ben Smith.
I do have one exception............................
Yoko ATTEMPTED to be a musician.
