Thank you longgun. And yes, the band thinks it looks very cool. First gig with them tomorrow!

Thanks ludleg. Man, go for it. So easy to do and it really brings new life into a kit.

You did a superb job on this and made a great choice on the wrap.

    Nicely done!!
Why thank you sir...all three times. I've loved this wrap for a long time and just been waiting for the right kit/circumstance to order it.

Johnny answered below. Agree with him that it's not a stupid question at all. I DID have to ruin the original ones on this kit. Bum wrap has replacements for a few bucks and they are two piece/screw together. Seriously simple.

It depends on the original grommet. Most, I find, are crimped into place and need to be pretty much destroyed in order to get them out. I created a grommet for my snare from a little thing that is usually used with computer wires.
Sometimes they are threaded and have a nut on the inside so you can easily save it for after the rewrap is done.
    Yep.

    Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!

Thank you Rich. I agree on the underrated part. I almost feel like I'm getting away with something illegal considering how little money I have in this kit.

Thanks Spaz, I agree. This pic looks cool but did not really capture how awesome it actually looked that night.

I like it. It kind of makes me mad because it looks that good. I just wrapped my old (1997) DW Collectors and I paid a premium for Delmar black glass glitter. Don't get me wrong, my kit looks phenomenal, but yours looks sharp too and cost a fraction of the Delmar wrap. So I like it and hate it at the same time. Well done.

    Collectors Black Ice Finishply

14x8 Collectors Black Nickel over Brass

Me too. It's pretty easy and very satisfying. I might sell my last project to fund the next one.
    Proudly playing:
    Doc Sweeney Drums
    A bunch of snares
    A bunch of cymbals

    Off-Set double pedals

I think I love to play the drums simply because you get to hit 'em!!!
