could you explain what you actually did.... make it an actual DIY for someone to try? I'd love to try it out myself.
Hi,SpazApproved.
I do have Tama & Other brand Remote Cable-Hat.But,there are either too long(Cable)plus abit haeavy for me to transport for gig.Always wanted something very simple/cheap/small/light-weight cable-hat.Got the idea, how to do it.well, you know,my mind always full with "New Drum's idea" so,just put this Cable-hat project a side.Until, last week, one of my Drummer friend Mr.John O'Leary(Ireland) asking me that he wanted a cable-hat(prefer DIY and save cost).well, since i already have all those material ready.I just use my hand-phone to take a short video(step by step on how to make your own Cable-hat).I did share this idea & video to another friend from New York Mr.Brian Johnson.I thought, why not,i just share this idea here,so that some of you may want to try! i will post the step by step video here.

I've always wondered about it. Years ago I was trying to design something like that. Traditional hat stands are such a pain in the rear end sometimes (for travel) A set up like pictured here can break right down like a normal stand and carried in bag easily.
all the best...
amazing engineering. Thank you for your explanations!
That's amazing..................going to watch these in detail tonight!
I have a couple of old pedals I could use for parts........................thanks for posting this
Awesome step by step and well documented with your drawings. Thank-you for your many inventions and contributions to the drumming community!
I definitely need to try this at some point. I agree the cables of many remote hi-hats can be too long or a pain to transport...if it wasn't for that i'd always use one!
Oh the mind wanders.....imagining making one of these for a remote pedal for an x-hat on the right side of the kit....heh heh.... now, am I capable of putting it together?
Like everyone else is saying, thanks for putting these ideas up here for us. Very very cool stuff.
Hey there! I'm very interested in this, I have the same problem as most, the cable is too long... Your videos are not appearing on this site anymore. Help!
@pedders60 a lot of companies offer multiple lengths in cable replacement.
I've swapped out one of mine several times
