I know... it's a little over... but I'm sure I could scrape together the extra bit.

Thats the way, uh huh, uh huh, I like it.
I'd probably get a Roland 6KX if I could find one.
Any left over money would be for fun accessories.
*edit
Wow Kryshah, that's a darned good choice!
I'd get a Roland electronic drumset. I used to have a TD-7 and it was so much fun to play. It would just be a secondary kit for me but I've been wanting another one for a long time.
There is a guy who lives close to me named Eddie Valerio. He builds custom drums. Yes, he buys keller shell...but he does a great job with finishes and installing hardware. I would have him make me a custom set.
Probably:
22"x22" bass.
12"x9"
13"x10"
14"x12"
15"x13"
White laquer, with black hardware.

I want some of that dark red too. Don't know that I'd pay 2 grand for it though...
Thats the way, uh huh, uh huh, I like it.
Lol
I would custom order a Gretsch Renown kit with following sizes:
22x18 Bass
8x10 Tom
9x12 Tom
10x13 Tom
16x16 Tom
6-1/2x14 Snare
5600 Gibraltar Hardware Pack
Bass drum tom mount system, I don’t believe in that Virgin bass drum stuff. I’ve been around way to long to hear any real difference.
Gretsch is planning new finishes for 2008 so I would like to see their offering but right now the Autumn Burst is the finish I would choose.
Now playing Gretsch and Slingerland Drums
I'd get a higher end Roland kit or put it towards the TD-20
I would buy a 72' Ludwig Vistalite 6 piece set in transparent blue that a guy I know has for sale. Absolutely beautiful. Probly use the rest to buy a couple more cymbals.
Da' Bum
Rockin' the beat for fadedblue
Keepin' time for Andy Harrison & the AOP

DW Performance 5 pc. in White Marine Pearl
1972 Pearl Deluxe Custom 5 pc. in blue sparkle
KAT KT-3
Paiste cymbals
Gibraltar hardware
Axis pedals
Vic Firth sticks
Evans heads
I would probly just order the start to my dream DW kit, I probably couldn't get much just the 22" bass drum 10" tom and possibly the 16" floor tom.
I love the big kits, so I would have to say the Mapex M Birch 6-Piece and I'd probably add something like Roto-toms because I'm old school like that, haha. I would probably finish the set off with some nice Paistes or something to that effect.
It's a classic.
• How many drummers does it take to change a lightbulb?
Five: One to screw the bulb in, and four to talk about how much better
Neil Peart could have done it.
If I had $2000.00 to spend on nothing but drum realted stuff I would buy a 12channel rack mounted mixer, rack mounted compressor and gate for 8 of the channels and rack mounted effects. and a rack flight case. I want to be able to mix my own drums and send one feed to the house board so that I don't take up so many channels on the main board. It is becoming a more pressing problem by the day!
I believein the virgin bass drum concept. It is really not to do with sound but the amount of stress being applied downward onto the plies of the drum. I think it pays off in long haul.
all the best...
I'm actually going to try this myself in a few weeks. I have a 32 channel stage mixer i'm going to mix the front monitors and our in ear systems. I've never really had to mix the stage before but i'm hoping it will help with our hearing issues.
I'm going to take pics as well, i'm sure it will look pretty sweet having a big mixer beside me
Please do take pictures, It will be fun to see how you have it set up.
if I had $2000 to spend: It would be Pearl MMX mmmm
Paiste Posse
14inch 2002 series Sound Edge Hi-hats
16inch and 18inch Signature series Fast crashes
20inch 3000 series Ride
18inch PST5 series China
Pearl Forum Series drum set
Pearl Chad Smith Signature snare(steel shell)
Tama Iron Cobra Chrome
RIP Frank - You will be remembered
i would look into some used high end kits. i bet you could find a killer pearl masters or tama starclassic kit with hardware and a few cymbals for 2k on ebay.
