I just voted for Gretsch because of their consistency across the board in their manufacture. Great drums at any level.

Now playing Gretsch and Slingerland Drums
I like Pearl, I'm partial to Pearl, I've read enough to know that if I were to buy acoustic, it would be Pearl.......
gotta keep this one alive
Thats the way, uh huh, uh huh, I like it.

I love the sound of Tama drums. Gretsch is nice, but I could sit down with a maple Tama for hours.

The good times won't roll themselves
Gretsch Renown Maple, Paiste Signature, Reflector, and Dark Energy
I'll put a vote for Tama. But that's because I own a Tama kit. I'm pretty brand neutral.
I completely agree with 32ndHeartBeat here, I could sit at my maple Tama kit for hours! (and I have :p)
Sonor. Because I have had the same Sonor kit for 22 years, and have yet to break anything on it. Also...
They are made by crazed german engineers, who over build the poop out of everything.
Is there a reason you left that little known drum company DW, off the list of options?

I am partial to PDP and DW because that's what I own. But truth be known all of the major brands are making really nice kits. Even the mid price lines are light years ahead in quality over the stuff being produced 20/30 years ago. I know that is an arguable point, but I beleive that it is true. I love the old stuff as much as anyone else, but the reality is the new stuff is better hands down. I think it is because of the stiff competetion that everyone keeps one uping each other for sales. Certainly hardware is vastly improoved over the years.
As much as I love Pearl, Mapex just have that extra punch going for them...for less cash as well.
Today, on Ethel The Frog...
no ddrums or luddy fans out there?
Thats the way, uh huh, uh huh, I like it.
I am a luddy fan too! Just don't own anything other than the supraphonic 402. Best snare drum ever made in my opinion. They say they are the most recorded snare in history. Problem is who checks these kinds of facts? Someone with too much time on their hands evidently.
PEARL! till death!
Pearl. Because my entry level kit is pearl. but when I upgrade I'm not sure if I'm sticking to Pearl.
Paiste Posse
14inch 2002 series Sound Edge Hi-hats
16inch and 18inch Signature series Fast crashes
20inch 3000 series Ride
18inch PST5 series China
Pearl Forum Series drum set
Pearl Chad Smith Signature snare(steel shell)
Tama Iron Cobra Chrome
RIP Frank - You will be remembered
wow... pearl's kicking a lot more tail than I expected....

E Drums !! !
There are no loud instruments just loud players !
Protect Your Hearing !!!!
The numbers speak my friend. I don't think there's any real difference in quality though. It's more personal preference. I prefer a pearl. Probably because I learned on a pearl... all of my high schools equipment was pearl etc...
Thats the way, uh huh, uh huh, I like it.
Definetly ddrum cool looks and great set ups
I think ddrum is quickly working thier way up to the forefront of drums. They've come a long way. Wicked looking drums too.
Thats the way, uh huh, uh huh, I like it.
RCI. Because it's not your father's Vistalite.
Gretsch
DW
Sonor
and then my custom companied that i lvoe so much (sjc truth C&C)
while i like all the other brands
they seem like they just keep putting different colors on the same old sizes
im really not one to be picky though
theres only so much that changes from drum company to drum company
alot of it is if it is tuned right
what heads are on it
what wood used
and care given while being manufactured
they are all variables
Cheers =]
When i grow up and win da lottery.I wanna be able to afford DRUM WORKSHOP,,,,,unfortunately that wasnt one of the chioces,,,,I have my trusty 3/23/1792 Ludwig Classics chrome over 3 ply,,,,it is the dream i live with these days( i do have PEARL,LUDWIG and SLINGERLAND and YAMAHA snares tho....I support em all

IT'S ALL ABOUT DA SHOW !!!!!
It depends on what I'm playing. When I'm playing in my band, I need my Sonor because it just has 'that' sound and feel for the songs we play. When I'm just jamming with friends or I'm writing out parts for songs, I like my Ludwig kit. I'm going to go with Sonor because it was my first kit.
It's a classic.
• How many drummers does it take to change a lightbulb?
Five: One to screw the bulb in, and four to talk about how much better
Neil Peart could have done it.
